The voice is an intricate series of muscles and ligaments. Like a dancer, a singing student needs to work through a series of bespoke exercises to facilitate adequate vocal development. We offer complete vocal coaching, working through correct posture, core centering, breathing, support, vocal placement and mixed register development.

Michael, hailing from London, has been helping students attain all levels of success for 20 years and taught thousands of students of all ages. He brings a wealth of professional experience and knowledge to his teaching and will work on a unique kinaesthetic level to free a voice to maximise its true potential. You will feel and hear a difference in as little as an hour.

This training is available at all levels and experiences, although it is specifically structured to meet the demands of the current musical theatre repertoire.

We pride ourselves on our knowledge of current theatrical and commercial trends and keep in close contact with Broadway and the West End. Sitting on audition panels in London for tertiary training, we are constantly aware of what is required in the business today.

Audition Preperation

Are you thinking about auditioning for a tertiary education and never sung before? No problem!! Michael’s expertise, is taking a singer with very little, if no exerience of singing and transforming their voice so the are ready for major auditions. He will guide you to the correct song choices as well as train you to use the correct vocal function to award you that extra advantage over your competition!

Performance and Life Coaching

As the world changes, an important part of coaching, is mindset preparation. Michael can also allocate lesson time to unlock singing anxiety, find out the student’s psychology and working it to transform their character to work as an advantage in their attitude towards performance and progress. He can literally elimainate the students negative perspective of themselves in a couple of sessions.

Singing Lesson Structure

Lessons are taught on a one to one basis either in person at MGTA or online. There are 3 lesson options. 30, 40 or 60 minute blocks.

Singing Exams

Students are encouraged to take singing exams but by no means is this essential for progress. We currently prepare students for the LAMDA singing syllabus and teach up to grade 8 with a 100% success rate with 95% reaching distinction. These exams can be used to gain UCAS points for university application support.

Michael’s tuition has gained students West End and World Wide success.
